If you are looking for something traditional, then this farmhouse with brick floors and bamboo ceilings will certainly let you know you are staying in Portugal. The 200 year old single storey building has 2 bedrooms, 2 shower rooms, and is supported by a separate optional annexe with a further bedroom and shower room. It has a large tropical garden with lots of places to relax, and is surrounded by countryside although it is situated by a road so that you are not isolated. It is within a mile of the town centre, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants, and only 25 minutes drive from Faro airport. Beaches, golf courses, the mountains and towns such as loule and Tavira are within an easy drive, and it really demonstrates the term 'rustic'.

The 200 year old single storey farmhouse is rustic and traditional, with thick whitewashed walls, brick floors and bamboo ceilings. It has a fully fitted kitchen, dining room, living room with wood burner and a dressing room attached to the double bedroom. It can sleep up to 3 people, and is surprisingly spacious.
The separate annexe is a little distance from the house, and has a double bedroom, shower room and a living room/kitchenette. It can sleep up to 3-4 people.
The house can be booked on its own, or both the house and annexe. The annexe is never booked separately.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
The house has a double bedroom with superking bed, and an adjoining dressing room and shower room. And, yes the shower rooms are rustic as well! There is a single bed in the smaller bedroom, and an additional wetroom.
The annexe has a double room with king size bed, and a more modern shower room. There is an additional sofa bed in the living area, hence 3-4 people can be accommodated if required.
The property is on a privately gated plot, along a gravel road that is adjacent to a main road. It backs on to a ruin (which gives it more character and lots of privacy), with only 1 further villa a short distance up the hill.
The tropical garden is over 1/2 acre, full of gravelled sections with many tropical plants and trees that include orange, almond, grapefruit, pomegranate, fig and almond. There are lots of areas to sit, and a traditional BBQ.
The 6m pool has a wood surround (and yes this is rustic as well....), with 4 sunbeds, chairs and some pool equipment.
Due to the nature of the property, the only time the property is weed free is when the owners are over, so despite regular maintenance, you are welcome to weed if desired!
A 20-25 minute drive north from Faro airport, and a taxi would cost around 25Euros. There are local taxis, buses, a bus station in Sao Bras, and the town is within walking distance (around a mile or so).
Local supermarkets are about 1 mile away, as are cafes and restaurants. The property is rural, but next to a road so that you do not feel isolated. Access to the property is via a meet and greet company, with a key safe for late bookings.
Water and electric are included. There is a meet and greet service for guests, and a welcome book with information. All bedding, towels and pool towels are provided.
In addition there is a washing machine, dishwasher, BBQ, tv and dvd. A selection of books and dvds are also available.

No smoking property. Due to the uneven nature of the grounds we prefer not to book toddlers (under 5 years) or anyone that has difficulty walking.
The house has a sokaway drain so no tissue ar anything else should be put down the toilets. Please use the bins provided, as any blockages would spoil your holiday and would need to be paid for,
We do not take a safety deposit off guests, but any breakages or damage would need to be paid for on exit.
The Area: Sao Bras D'alportel, Eastern Algarve
You are close to the mountains and many small villages where English is rarely spoken. Sao Bras itself has an historic centre, as well as a quiet centre (this is not a highly touristic area).
The nearest town is Loule, with Tavira and Moncarpacho a short drive away. Beaches, golf courses can also be reached within 20 minutes.
If you feel adventurous, the Spanish border is only about 25 miles away.

There are no restrictions on day of arrival or checkout and this means you can get the best flight prices. We do not do back to back bookings, so later check out is not a problem if required.
We are happy to offer a slight discount on the second week.
Bookings require a £50 deposit, with the full payment due within 4 weeks of the arrival date.
Prices listed here are for the house only, the annexe is approximately £180 per week extra.
