On the headland overlooking the Marina and beach at Praia da Rocha, Madrigal offers complete privacy with its own heated private pool and paddling pool. Just walking distance to the delights of the exciting seaside resort of Praia da Rocha. Every amenity is within strolling distance. This makes it ideal for families with teenagers or groups of friends wishing to sample the local night-life as well as enjoy the sea, sun and fun. The wide, mile-long Atlantic beach is just yards away.

The villa accommodation consists of three double bedrooms (1 en-suite) and two twin bedrooms. On the ground floor a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine, a dining room and a leafy conservatory, a sitting room with satellite TV which leads on the veranda and to the swimming pool and terraces. Outside there is a shaded dining table near the pool and a barbecue. Two of the bedrooms, one double and one twin, are in the garden suite with its own private terrace and its own sitting room and TV, and a well equipped breakfast counter. In the mid or low season the main house can be let on its own. Please ask for reduced price in mid or low season when using only up to three bedrooms as the Garden Suite can be closed off. In the high seasons the entire house must be rented.
Air conditioning and central heating is installed in the whole house, remote handsets for control can be booked in advance or decided upon arrival, payment is only due on receiving the handsets. There is a fireplace in the main house for the winter. Logs can be bought at supermarkets.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, shower, three-way mirrors with theatre lighting. Separate walk-in clothing cupboard. The magnificent bed is on a raised platform with a view of the Castle Dom João.
The Marina double room has a veranda overlooking the marina and a couch which can be used as a child bed when requested. This room shares a shower bathroom with the twin bedroom. Both rooms have ample hanging cupboard space and all have comfortable armchairs.
The villa is freestanding on its own walled property. The swimming pool is adjacent to the sitting room with the shallow paddling pool close by overlooking the harbour. The terrace next to the pool is equipped with a table and 10 chairs for dining al-fresco. On the kitchen side of the terrace and pool is the barbecue and the entrance from the carport. There are various verandas and terraces around the house. The round terrace is a perfect spot to sunbathe and read with your head in the shade. The garden on the lower floor has a wood-slatted floor suitable for children to play, a terrace, a grapevine and lemon, tangerine and grape-fruit trees.
The villa is on three floors. This entails a number of stairs and railed verandas which are high and care needs to be taken with small children. The ground floor has access through the gate directly from the street by the front door and also by a locked gate through the carport. The garden suite on the lower ground floor has its own separate entrance through the main gate, but can also be accessed by stairs from inside the conservatory on the ground floor.
The housekeeper will come four times a week to clean the house. She will change bath towels if needed and linen if you have scheduled visitors arriving. She does not cook or do kitchen work, though she will tidy up of course! In this warm climate please take rubbish to the nearby ecological bins regularly. Pool towels are supplied. The pool is serviced once a week.
Windows must be closed when aircon is used. Pets are not allowed. No smoking indoors. Changeover day is usually Saturday. We can accept bookings of 9-14 days. However. Please be aware that we do not accept reservations with a gap of less than 7 days/nights from the previous or next booking on the calendar.
The Area: Praia Da Rocha, Western Algarve
Praia da Rocha is a wide, mile-long Atlantic beach only 100 yards from Madrigal where there is a boardwalk along the beach which is lit at night, giving access to many beach bars and restaurants, water-skiing, sailing, windsurfing, jet-skiing, pedalos, tennis courts and beach sports. The boardwalk can be accessed through the Fortaleza down the stairs or by the Marina without using steps.
Travel: Faro airport 45 minutes drive. Car not essential, everything you really need is within walking distance. Every 15 mins there is a local bus service to Portimão town that stops near the villa.
Praia da Rocha has all the shops you will need on holiday; supermarkets, shops, cafes, a cinema, a casino, bowling alley, tennis courts, a marina, dolphin safaris, bars, discos and every kind restaurant. Portimão, which is a midsize commercial town with hypermarkets and retail parks, is only 2km away. There are excursions available within walking distance to take you the waterslide park Slide&Splash only 7km away, to swim with dolphins at Zoomarine, or to go out to sea and search for Dolphins, there are off-road safaris, and other places of interest like Monchique mountain or the Costa Vicentina Surf beaches.

Until this health crisis is over we have a 24 hours disinfection period after each stay. Check the calendar to leave one day between arrival and departure. Changeover day is flexible, however please be aware that we do not accept reservations with a gap of less than 7 days/nights, from the previous or next booking on the calendar (in 2020 add 1 day for disinfection). VAT is included at 6%. Please ask for reduced rates in low season when using only up to three bedrooms. The Garden Suite can be closed off when not in use. In mid and high season the entire house is rented.
