Entrance is through a secure iron gate from street level, and up a flight of 10 steps, through another doorway onto the spacious open terrace of the property. The first views on entering are of the pool and the sea beyond.
Comfortable open plan living, with 2 large sofas, fibre internet and TV box offering all UK channels, and catch up facility. Glazed doors open out onto the covered front terrace and views of the beach.
Well fitted and equipped kitchen with all expected appliances including fridge freezer, dishwasher, built in oven, induction hob, and built in microwave. Dining area with round table seats 4, window with sea views, and glazed doors opening onto the terrace.
A central air conditioning unit is fitted in the ceiling of the main living area
Laundry cupboard and washing machine off the corridor between the bedrooms, and there is a safe.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Bedroom 1 has a queen size bed (160cm wide) fitted wardrobe and sea view. This room has an ensuite bathroom with bath and overhead shower, basin and WC.
Bedroom 2 has twin beds, and fitted wardrobe. This room has an ensuite shower room with good sized shower cubicle, basin and WC.
Room fans are supplied for each bedroom.
The covered sea view front terrace with comfortable seating is the perfect place to catch the sea breeze on a hot day, with a cool drink in hand.
The pool terrace is very private and not overlooked by neighbouring properties. The pool is part raised part sunken. It is small but with a deep end for wallowing, various levels with bench seats where you can sit and cool down, and a shallow area for children to play. The pool is heated via the solar panel system and electric heat pump (April to October). Outside lighting and underwater pool lighting add to the ambiance in evening. There is a built in BBQ with shaded dining table, and there are 4 sunbeds.
There is a flight of 10 steps at the entrance of the property, and it is not wheelchair accessible.
Cleaning service and Bed linen change is weekly, and towel change twice weekly. Please bring your own towels for the beach.
The pool is water tested and cleaned weekly.
The owner lives locally and manages the property.
No smoking and no pets please.
Maximum of 4 people occupying, with the exception of a baby for which we can provide a travel cot.
The Area: Praia Da Luz, Western Algarve
Praia da Luz is arguably one of the prettiest beaches in the Western Algarve, sporting the european blue flag, and classified as accessible with ramps and walkways and facilities for the disabled. East are picturesque rocky coves and the long sandy crescent of Meia Praia at Lagos, within 10 minutes drive. 15 minutes West are the resort beaches of Burgau and Salema, and further again are a multitude of beaches frequented by surfers, Spectacular and less busy but not so safe for small children.
Faro is the nearest airport at only a 1 hour drive away. Praia da Luz beach 30m. Historic town of Lagos 8 mins by car. Cape St Vincent 30 mins by car.
The apartment is centrally placed and within walking distance to all village amenities which include post office, bank, cash dispensing machines, several supermarkets, pharmacy, English-speaking doctors surgery and dentist. Zoomarine dolphin park and Slide and Splash water park provide coach transport from Luz. Anglican church services are held on Sunday in the local church. Tennis is widely available, including lessons and friendly tournaments. There are two water-sport centres on the beach providing everything from banana boat rides, to sailing lessons, to fishing excursions. From Lagos you can try parasailing, deep-sea fishing, dolphin safari, or visit the grottos by fishing boat. There are several surf centers offering day trips to wherever the waves are best on the day, wetsuits, equipment and instruction as required. Luz can offer truly international cuisine in a wide choice of cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and occasions. Many are family friendly and also offer a takeaway service. For a change of scene we recommend an evening out in the historic town of Lagos. The 8 minute taxi ride is inexpensive - let us book for you and just sit back and enjoy the local wines. For younger children there are kids activities available in the village.

Having found this group of properties, we keep coming back. We have been visiting Luz for over 40 years and have gradually got closer and closer to the sea front. Now we have found the ideal location - we can't get any closer to the sea unless we camp on the beach! The property is beautifully turned out and has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. And if you need to pop out for breakfast, there are three cafes within 20 yards of the entrance.
Close to everything but amazingly private. Despite being in the centre of Luz, the design and soundproofing meant that you won't be disturbed.
Surprisingly spacious both within the apartment and on the terrace. Although it was just the 2 of us there was plenty of space, sitting and eating areas if the apartment had 4 occupants. Comfortable bed and clean and tidy throughout with a mid-week visit from the maid. Easy walking to numerous excellent restaurants and bars, shopping and, of course, the beach. The sheltered pool was real a bonus.
We had the pleasure to stay in both the Penthouse and The Folly during our two week vacation.
The owners have thought of everything! Both properties fitted to a high standard, everything you need to hand and total relaxation is guaranteed.
The location is ideal less than a stones throw away from the beach, restaurants and local amenities. The booking process from beginning to end is made very easy by Catherine the owner.
We would highly recommend a stay at either property and hope to return very very soon!!..

I stayed in the Penthouse Apartment last summer - an absolutely stunning property and would definitely recommend to friends and family. The apartment has two beautiful ensuite rooms bedrooms which gave an excellent nights sleep. While being meters from the beach and cafes, the apartment remains very quiet and not overlooked, meaning both day and night the stay was quiet, relaxing and private and you could chose to remain tucked away overlooking the fantastic scenery from the terrace, or go and explore the beachfront eateries, or go to the shops or beach, which are, quite literally, only a matter of seconds away. The apartment offers so many options - it is the definition of 'variety' - even down to the plunge pool, which had been thought out to provide so many different levels to either lay and chill out reading a book in the shallow end, sit on the levels, or have a swim in the deep end. If you're looking for a thoroughly relaxing stay in a beautiful modern apartment - this is definitely the one to go for!
